Phoenix Flying Mount

Video of the Burning Crusade Phoenix Mount:

From: WowInsider.com

Level 70s who've spent a lot of time in Shadowmoon Valley may have noticed that they're able to get neutral with the Netherwing Faction. Several of my guildmates who did the quest chain, which ends with you killing Zuluhed, were disappointed that they weren't able to grind up to exalted and get a nether drake mount. It's already been stated that armored nether drakes will be the prize for the top arena PVP team each season, but what about the regular drakes?

Drysc said Monday that in the next content patch, players can probably expect a questline for a 310 percent speed nether drake mount. He refused to give any more details about the quest, though. Most speculators are guessing that it will be a continuation of the Shadowmoon Valley chain, probably involving a horrifically long Wintersaberesque reputation grind. Some more cynical players said they expected it to not only be a rep grind, but involve drops you can only get from high-level raids, to keep the mounts rare.

Would you grind for a nether drake mount, or will you be content on your 280 percent speed swift windrider or griffon?

On the Blizzard Forums Drysc said:

" Weird, I know I posted about this last Thursday. Well anyway, the armored Netherdrake will be available through the arenas as a reward, and a Netherdrake that has a distinctly different appearance from the armored Netherdrake will be available through a quest line which has not yet been implemented. It's likely that it will be implemented with the next major content patch.

They're both epic flying mounts, just to clear up any confusion on their speed."

Information from Curse Gaming:

"Since news of Armored Netherdrakes being available to members of the top team of the Arena season, players have been questioning Blizzard on where the normal Netherdrake mounts are from. Well now Drysc has given a bit of information to help cement the rumors, in this post.

Drysc writes: "Weird, I know I posted about this last Thursday. So where will the soon-to-be implemented quest start? Well, rumors have been going about that the Netherwing reputation will be involved - and with the quest chain to improve yourself to Neutral with this reputation - found in Shadowmoon Valley, there's a good chance this is true. Only time will tell, but players can now rest easy, knowing that there will indeed be an alternative way to obtain a Netherdrake mount, other than through the Arena system.

Drysc goes on to add: "As far as I'm aware the current plan is to make them both the same speed, which I believe is planned for 310%, a bit faster than the purchasable epic flying mounts. That's of course subject to change."

At 310% speed, this places them 30% faster than the Armored Gryphon and Wyvern variants available to players currently, and at about the same speed as a flight path gryphon or wyvern, which is certainly exciting information for players looking to obtain this mount."
